Biography:
Bing Xue received the MSc degree in management in 2010 from Shenzhen University in China, and the PhD degree in computer science in 2014 at Victoria University of Wellington, New Zealand. Since May 2015, she has been working as a Lecturer in computer science and with the Evolutionary Computation Research Group at Victoria University of Wellington. Her research focuses mainly on evolutionary computation, feature selection, feature extraction/construction, data mining, machine learning, soft computing, dimension reduction, multi-objective optimisation, symbolic regression, pattern recognition, and image processing. She is currently the Chair of Task Force on Evolutionary Computation for Feature Selection and Construction, a committee member of Evolutionary Computation Technical Committee, and Emergent Technologies Technical Committee, IEEE Computational Intelligence Society. She has been serving as a guest editor, associated editor or editorial board member for different international journals, such as Applied Soft Computing, and Soft Computing. She also been serving as program chair, special session chair, symposium/special session organiser for a number of international conferences, and as reviewer for top international journals and conferences in the field.
